Internal Consistency and Split-half Reliability of Existing Factors
The split-half reliability was calculated for each factor by checking the correlations between responses between items in one half of the factor and those in the other half. Thus checking the degree of similarity within the factor. Internal consistency is measured using Chronbach's Alpha - which correlates every item in a factor with every other item and explores the homogeneity of the items within a factor.
The internal consistency and reliability coefficients are presented in Table 2. A correlation of 0 represents the absence of a relationship and a correlation of 1 reflects a perfect match; in this case reliability and consistency are good across all factors.
