Diphthongs

CURE

There is a great array of variation here. Among the diphthongal realizations are the following:

[ʊə​] in WSAfE and PakE;

[əʊ] in CFE;

[ʊa] in EAfrE;

[ua] or [uɔ] in GhE and GhP;

[uwɔ] in NigP.

Monophthongal values are reported in the following:

[ɔ:] in SAfE;

[o] in BlSAfE and LibSE;

[ɔ] in CamE, SgE, MalE and as lesser alternatives in GhE, Kamtok and GhP;

[u] in PhlE (with postvocalic /r/).
