Monophthongs and diphthongs commA (VISA)

The most usual articulation of the commA vowel is a retracted and extra short [a]. Once again, the vowel is given more stress than in Standard English.

Table 2 provides a summary of the most common phonetic realizations of the vowels of Pure Fiji English as articulated by Indo-Fijians.
