iterativity (n.)

In some versions of METRICAL PHONOLOGY, a PARAMETER which determines the extent to which a FOOT structure may be repeatedly applied. In non-iterative systems, words have a single foot at the EDGE. In iterative (or bidirectional) systems, there is a non-iterative foot assignment at one edge and an iterative foot assignment at the other.
