Give Your Brain Some Peace and Quiet
12:6:28 2025-05-15 893

Studies have shown that there is a difference in the ability to concentrate and remember between young people and older adults when there is an external factor such as noise.

Many young people and teenagers can perform mental tasks even in the presence of sound sources like music or while watching TV. However, older adults’ brains usually cannot learn or recall effectively in noisy environments. Some researchers suggest that teenagers’ and young adults’ brains are capable of multitasking or filtering and selecting relevant stimuli. On the other hand, older brains typically lack this ability. Therefore, as we age, it becomes important to provide a quiet environment and avoid sources of noise in order to maintain better mental performance.
