Generally, the story of English is told as beginning with the arrival of the Angles, Jutes, and Saxons from continental Europe, followed by their language incorporating vocabulary from the original Celtic inhabitants, then the Scandinavian Vikings, then the Normans, and then Latin, Greek, and other languages.

B. But what we have seen so far allows us to see how English began and why it is the way it is today from new perspectives.
