Can a child be considered a liar?

Most information and facts indicate that children are a blank slate and all their motives are pure and innocent, based on fun, play, possession and curiosity. Much of their speech and expression is based on their simple imagination and naive perceptions, and it is known that they often lack vocabulary, so they resort to using vocabulary and phrases that are available in their memory about any reality they are trying to tell us about.

Educators and parents teach children the word “lie” and confirm it through repetition by accusing their child of lying whenever he conveys something contrary to reality, and they describe his simple expression as a lie. Because they did not hear him speak the whole truth or see him justifying his bad deeds to escape their punishment as they imagine!

This method of dealing with children establishes the idea of lying and roots the term lying in his literature on dealing with children. We hear him accuse his brother of lying and describe him as not speaking the truth! He relies on the oath in his words to prove to others the truthfulness of his speech!

It is advisable for parents to avoid accusing the child of lying, especially before the age of seven, and to deal with him with the utmost confidence, and not to repeat in his mind the words “liar,” “liar,” and “you did not tell the truth.” Or they demand that he swear an oath and prove the truth of his words!

They must be given a space of safety to express whatever justifications the want, even if they contradict the truth, but at the same time they must help them formulate speech about the situations, facts, and incidents that they witnesses and interact with, and provide them with vocabulary Crisis and modify their expression in an educational manner that is constructive, supportive, and stimulating for their pronunciation and linguistic skills.

It is useful to place in front of him a picture of a landscape or an enlarged painting from a cartoon he knows and ask him to look at it with concentration, then invite him to another room or a place far away from that picture and painting, and ask him to describe what he saw and observed. He should be helped in his expression, even if he makes a mistake.

Define that the description was not correct until he learned accuracy in expression and investigated the reality in conveying.
