Be secretive about your achievements and success
And do not reveal the profits you have obtained
There is a hidden enemy,
He is the envious person!!
The Prophet of Islam, Muhammad, may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, urged concealment, saying:
“Seek help in meeting your needs through concealment, for everyone who has a blessing is envied.”
The people who surround us are divided into two categories:
Some of us say that when we tell them about our success and the goodness we have achieved, their reaction is like throwing a rose at him and he gives you his perfume in return... (congratulations and blessings) and they appear happy.
The other category is that as soon as you tell them about your success or any good that has befallen you, it is as if you blew on an ember and fanned its fire, and he is filled with jealousy and envy to the point that he cannot hide through his harsh face.
Envy is a negative feeling that stems from illness of the soul and sickness of the heart. The envious person feels inferiority and deficiency for various reasons, such as the result of wrong upbringing or failures he was exposed to, which made him care about comparing himself with others, and wish that the blessing would be removed from them, and be filled with anger and sadness when he sees others in blessing and happiness. He is always worried, miserable, and outcast among the class of righteous people.
The worst examples of envious people are those who are motivated by the fires of envy to harm the envied: either by deceiving them, or beguiling them, or plotting against them, until it came in the Holy Book of Allah to seek refuge from their evil.
{And from the evil of the envier when he envies} [Al-Falaq: 5]
In order to protect ourselves from falling into problems caused by envious people or causing harm to us, there are several methods that make you safe from the evil and machinations of the envious:
1- Resorting to Allah and seeking refuge from evil through supplication, recitation of noble verses, and legal proofs.
2- Ignoring and overlooking the envious person’s provocative actions, sick looks, and aggressive gestures.
3- Patience and piety in dealing with him and not being drawn into the problems he raises that might implicate those around him in transgressions and sins.
4- Looking at him with compassion because he is sick, and it is benevolent that we extend a helping hand to him to regain his self-confidence, such as allowing him to provide us with a service for which we thank him, so that he feels proud and finds himself among the ranks of people of goodness and virtue.
5- The envious person may be kind and have beautiful attitudes in our lives, so we must not forget his virtue. By remembering his beautiful attitudes, this will reduce the impact of the pain he caused us.
6- Do not hesitate to exonerate yourself from any accusation and rumor raised by envious people and explain the truth of things to your loved ones.
Finally, be careful not to fall into this disease that our Lord and Prophet, the Messenger of Allah, warned against by saying:
Do not be envious, for envy eats up faith just as fire eats up wood.
