The negative effects of too many holidays on students
5:0:12 2024-09-14 4160

The large number of holidays in our country causes a number of negatives, and the sectors that are affected are many: the most important of which is education. Students sitting at home for periods - no matter how short - leaves a negative impact on the scientific structure and on their academic level, as they are dominated by laziness and aversion to learning, and are instead inclined to rest, sleep and play.. and the most important thing is that most schools do not complete the curricula, but rather there is a disturbance in the presentation of academic subjects at the end of each academic year; Some teachers resort to reducing the curriculum and seeking to skip some of the course items, and that such measures greatly harm primary and intermediate school students; because these are the stages of building the cognitive ladder for students and pupils. Parents and educators face difficulty in training their children to read and review their lessons, which forces some of them to take strict educational measures against their children; Such as hitting them, yelling at them, or depriving them of what they want. To make the picture clear, we summarize these negatives as follows: -

- Increased periods of free time, and thus they will resort to doing more of the things they love and are used to, such as playing with electronic devices, sleeping, or hanging out with friends.

- Many problems and quarrels, whether inside or outside the home.

- Some of them fall victim to suspicious relationships and bad company, which makes them acquire negative and bad habits such as smoking and taking drugs.

- They feel alienated from the teacher and the school, due to the long duration of some holidays, which shows some of them resentment towards starting school when the holiday ends, and their neglect of following up on lessons and memorizing homework.

- They get used to eating a lot and resorting to relaxation and sleeping, which makes them obese and overweight, and makes them lethargic and lazy, and loses the desire to practice sports, so their activity slackens and their level of dullness increases.
