You won't consistently excel at your job if you're just looking for bigger paychecks. Furthermore, if you haven't been successful in a role yet and choose to move into a similar role, what makes you think you'll work more efficiently and eventually excel?
Here are some ideas of what you might need to consider as you develop a career plan:
- To have a plan, once you write the plan down and start it, you will be amazed at the things that happen to help you achieve it. It is very much as if the plan focuses your awareness and opens your eyes to things that can help you to achieve your goals.
- Having clarity about your career path will help you improve your performance in your current job, because you will now know that this is part of a bigger picture, and therefore, even if your current job is strenuous, boring, or difficult, you can determine what you want to achieve with it.
- You should develop a plan that identifies, over time, the activities and actions that you must take in order to help you direct your career in the best direction.
-Are you in the right job for you today? If so, what do you need to learn and master in this job to help you advance?
- Are you working with your ideal employer today? If so, should you work to get promotions or will you plan to move to another organization? What is the most suitable option for your professional life? If you are in doubt, I advise you to stay with a company that you know well.
- Do you need to learn new skills through study? Will you do this through self-learning, studying part-time on a course, or do you need or wish to stop working at some point and study full-time?
