The US space agency "NASA" revealed the details of the process of bringing about 30 samples from the surface of Mars to Earth in 2033, according to a plan that includes sending two new helicopters to the Red Planet.
The mobile robot "Perseverance", which landed on the surface of Mars a year and a half ago, has extracted 11 rock samples so far.
But bringing it to Earth to study it in detail for possible ancient life forms is a complex task that requires multiple steps.
So far, NASA was planning to send another rover robot to Mars to transport samples collected by "Perseverance" to a lander equipped with a small launch rocket.
The samples were sent to orbit in 2031, but the plan changed, as the second rover was abandoned.
Perseverance, which performed well, will transfer it directly to the Mars Ascent Vehicle (Mars Ascent Vehicle) rocket.
Samples will be taken from Perseverance using a robotic arm made by the European Space Agency and placed in the lander as originally planned.
