We may accustom the child to the daily allowance to the point that if we cut it off, he will cause us problems through his stubbornness, crying, and feeling sad. If this habit is not controlled properly, it may become a negative habit that we are the ones who caused its existence. What motivates us to give the allowance may be an excessive amount of our emotions and love for our children with the aim of bringing them joy, but we must be careful, as this has consequences that may not be positive, and therefore it is not easy to cut off the allowance from him, but it must be controlled. Here are the following steps that will help you in organizing and controlling this habit:
The first step: Explain to your children in detail: Lawful money is not available except through hard work and lawful effort, so saving it does not happen easily. Money is a means and not an end, so it should not be everything, as contentment is an inexhaustible treasure. Money is a blessing that we should thank Allah for and spend it in the appropriate place. And to avoid extravagance, because the extravagant were brothers of the devils.
The second step: Determine for each individual a monthly amount, divided over the days of the week, that suits the needs of each individual. Warn them that if they do not adhere to the purchasing program for each individual, then the waster will have deprived himself and will not be given more!
The third step: Help your children to recognize and determine their daily, weekly, monthly and annual needs so that they can be careful to spend money according to what they need and avoid wasting it.
Step Four: Inform those at home about your plan and goal to help your children organize and control their expenses so that they do not spoil your plan.
Step Five: Stay away from cash gifts, and if they happen to receive them, help them spend according to their personal budget. Continuous follow-up, monitoring, and thoughtful organization will give us a stable and balanced life for us and our children.
