Happiness can take the form of fleeting moments of joy or a prolonged feeling of contentment, and it can be so fleeting that as soon as we feel happy about the way life is going, feelings of guilt creeps into our hearts.

In general, a recent study published in the journal "Social Indicators Research" suggested that we would be happiest during the age group of 30 to 34 years, and the study reached these results by asking questions to people over the age of 50 about the stages of their lives.

More importantly, the study found that happiness does not necessarily decline after the early 30s.

The author of the study, Begona Alvarez, says: “I discovered that the probability of reaching the happiest period in life is something that develops systematically with age, and the possibility increases dramatically from childhood to reaching the age of 30-34 years, when it reaches the peak. And in that period of life, it is important Note that the happiest periods of happiness for individuals are not short on average: half of those who gave their opinion said that this period extended to two decades or more.

Alvarez added: "Therefore, a more accurate reading of the previous results indicates that the early thirties are a stage of life characterized by the highest chances of belonging to the happiest period in life, although the probability remains relatively high in the following years and decreases with age."

The study also suggested that individuals would not feel happy between the ages of 10 to 14 years, that is, the period of puberty, and after the age of seventy. However, she noted that the results may be affected by a kind of rosacea syndrome, in which individuals look forward to certain periods of their lives more positively than they felt at that time.

In our early thirties many of us make important decisions in our lives regarding work and living arrangements, and we may decide to “settle down”, and while those decisions may lead to a sense of stress at the time, the benefits resulting from the hindsight of those decisions, can be seen as milestones in our lives overwhelming in happiness.
