whenever a bee-eater or kingfisher catches food, they tend to both kill it and then tenderise it by wacking it onto their perch..... That way they break down the exoskelton of the insect or bones of the fish which they can neither chew nor digest.
Both of it comes back up in a little pellet almost comparable to a fur-ball to make space for new food.
Whenever you shoot kingfishers or bee-eaters make sure you have an extra fast shutter speed.
