The length of China's Xinjiang highways exceeds 10,000 km

Four expressways were recently opened in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, bringing the total length of highways in the region to more than 10,000 km, according to the regional transportation department.

The newly constructed highways are located in Hotan Prefecture, Aksu Prefecture, Mongolian Baiingolin Autonomous Prefecture, and Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture.

It is of great significance to the construction of these highways in the above-mentioned three sites, in order to improve the investment and development environment in southern Xinjiang and facilitate traffic in the Tarim Basin.

Xinjiang plans to invest 80 billion yuan (about 11.9 billion US dollars) in fixed assets in the highway transportation sector this year. In 2021, the fixed-asset investment in highway transportation in the region reached 69.05 billion yuan.
